PADI Scuba Review

The PADI Scuba Review program is conducted on most Saturdays and is recommended for divers who have been out of the water for 6 months or more. It consists of two parts - a Knowledge Review and a Confined Water Skills Review. There is also an optional open water dive .

The Knowledge Review segment covers the basic safety information divers learn during their Open Water Course. Divers use the Scuba Tune-up multimedia or guidebook to independently test their knowledge and/or under a PADI members guidance complete the Open Water course quizzes and exam.

The Confined Water Skills Review allows participants to practice basic scuba skills. With guidance from a PADI member dives update and fine tune their diving ability.

A supervised open water dive is an optional addition to the program for certified divers. This dive offers an opportunity to obtain an environmental orientation to a local dive site from a PADI member while gaining confidence and refreshing dive skills.


As you become a more experienced diver you will find that some topics of diving will appeal to you more than others.

What is the PADI Master Scuba Diver Certification?

The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification shows that you have reached the highest level as a recreational diver in the PADI System of diver education. PADI Master Scuba Diver shows you have a significant amount of training and experience in a variety of dive environments and conditions.

How do I get to Master Scuba Diver level?

You need to complete the following:

PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)

PADI Rescue Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)

50 logged dives

Five PADI Specialty course certifications

Where can I go from here?

The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is the highest recreational level in the PADI system of diver education. If you wanted to continue your diving education you can continue on to become a PADI Professional. As a Master Scuba Diver you'll be well qualified to begin your training as a PADI Divemaster, the first step towards becoming a diving instructor!
